color coded bug guard

So I want something to protect the hood on my car from bug and rock chips, and I’m not really into the clear bra. Normally I don’t mind the look of bug guards, but they look kind of weird to me on the LGT due to the shape of the front of the hood. So I think I’m going to order one and have it painted to match the car. Anyone do this on their LGT, or any kind of car for that matter? If so how did the paint hold up? I plan on using flex additive. Also, does anyone know where I can buy a clear bug guard?(then I can paint the inside)

I think the OZ market has the clear bug guard, not sure if you can get it here in the U.S.

Check for 03+ Subaru Liberty (same car, basically, as we have.) They have body parts and lights listed, they may be able to source a clear hood bug guard, if they are available in Oz.

 

Keep in mind that the turbo has a different version than non-turbo, due to airflow into the hood scoop.

if you painted the bug guard outside and it got chipped by rocks/bugs etc, would you get pissed and repaint it?

Clear bra FTW. Protects a larger area. Don't most bug guards have little rubber bumpers on the trailing edge that touch the paint?
