The_Condor
Can you easily change your oil & filter with that installed or do you have to take it off? I can't tell if those holes are used for the drain plug or not...
sportwagon
they are and they look like they will work fine... yet I haven't had it on long enough to find out since I changed the oil the day before I installed it!
TSiWRX
Looks like it also allows free-access to the filter, correct? Bros Ted & sportwagon, have you gotten resolution regarding the spacers? I think that after I lower Winky, this might be a "must have" item. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family

sportwagon
I had no issues with spacers! I worked fine with the spacers I recieved, along with an extra non-metric (imperial, right?) socket that I inserted as a reinforcing spacer under the jackpoint! http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20926&page=5 see post

TSiWRX
...something for special types of oil filters? Oops - I apologize if my question was not clearly stated...I was simply asking if there was free access to the filter at the factory location, so that I don't have to un-bolt this entire shield for oil-changes. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family

jazzymt
I have it - I've had some clearance issues with my MR Headers that I was finally able to resolve this weekend (ie. nothing a jigsaw & dremel can't solve) plus some homemade spacers. Anyway - the guys at the lube place didn't seem to have any trouble changing the oil with the skidplate on. The clearance areas look right to me under the car, although the oil drips backwards a bit on the oil pan (probably when it's nearly drained) & some ends up on the plate I noticed.
