Can I pull out a shrub with an Outback?

If it were me, I'd just use the winch on my jeep, as I have in the past. Got friends with a jeep? If I were to use my OB, Here's what I'd do.

If using just rope, get a good deal of it and wrap it several times around the base of the shrub, in the middle of the rope. Bring the two ends even 10 yards or so away from the shrub. Connect to the tow point . This will give you twice the strength of the rope.

Connect both ends of the rope to the rear center tow point under the rear of the car. I'd rather use a tow strap and a D-ring.

Place a towel or blanket on the center of the rope, for reasons I stated above. Start the car, first gear and pull till taught. Pull slow. Make sure the rope/strap is not coming off the shrub. Keep pulling slowly.

Keep kids and small animals away. Take pics!

Also... when pulling something out of the ground, place a towel or heavy blanket on the center of the rope. If it does snap, the towel absorbs .......

Is the damn bush out of the ground or not? I either want a horror story or this thread to die. We could have deforested half of the Amazon rain forest or we could have de-Forrester-ed all of SOA by now.
It is still ugly.

I would never go on a journey of any kind without bringing my towel.

That's what mine did. The old one cut prune. She hated that bush. One day I came home from work and it was gone. Pulled out the roots with a come-along anchored to the Camry's front transport tie-down (I did, not her).
It is still ugly.

Mix some aluminum shavings with some rust in a 3:1 ratio stick a magnesium strip into it set said concoction under tree then light on fire... No more shrub. Cool puddle of molten iron in the ground and aluminum vapor.

This is the first time I have ever heard of using thermite to remove a bush:lol:
