praedet
Well, it was going to take to long to get some SSR Type-Cs in from Japan since I am moving, so I settled for an interim set of rims/tires to tide me over Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212, 225/45-17 XL 94Y http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/praedet/5zigens/RS2.jpg 5zigen FN01R-C, 17x8, 48 mm offset http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/praedet/5zigens/FN01R-C1.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/praedet/5zigens/FN01R-C2.jpg 3 coats of sealant later and the black McGard spline drives Sorry, it has been sunny for 2 days, and now it is nasty... http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/praedet/5zigens/5zigens.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/praedet/5zigens/RightSide.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/praedet/5zigens/RearLeftQuarter.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e257/praedet/5zigens/LeftSide.jpg Ted

AWD-Turbo
Nice rims and tires! Do you think the 225 width R-S2 fills out the rim well? I also have some 17x8 rims, and I'm debating 225/45 vs 235/40.
praedet
I like how it looks... I could have gone wider, but I decided to try out the 225s this time for the slightly greater sidewall... Ted
jagcars26
Very nice Ted,,gold/bronze on white always looks great. Get some pics up when you get the black lugs on,,I'd like to see how it looks.I may do the same.
PGT
why no 235/40/17 or 245/40/17??
praedet
Well, Actually I am glad I didn't go w/ 235s or 245s. When I did the test fit yesterday I was amazed at how close it came to the spring mount, and also how far they stick out. A 235 or 245 would have been interesting to say the least. My reasoning was thus: 1. These tires/rims are a compromise. I couldn't get the SSRs I wanted in time, and I only plan on using these for a year or so. (sping, summer, fall) 2. I really wanted summer tires to play on, but I also have a > 3000 mile drive to do this summer. I wanted a little more sidewall for protection and ride quality, a little less width for slightly better gas mileage, and pretty good rain performance just in case. 3. Since they are a stop-gap, I didn't want to go full out... Make sense? Ted I'll get up pics as soon as they are on. When I test fitted the rim last night I wish I had had my camera with me. They are going to look mean
