SpudGT
When installing your Bobcat pads, did you re-use any of the OEM shims? Also, did you use Molykote (or any other similar goo)? Thanks, Burt

melayout
Used the all the OEM shims and the brake quiet goo(comes in a set of 2 packets) from Autozone when I did installed my Endless pads. No noise. Brake dust build-up can cause noise and is corrosive so hose down/power spray the whole brake assembly(caliper/pads/rotor/backing plate) every 1-2 weeks. TRS
I Reused all the shims. There was enough residual goop on them so didn't add any more. I painted the backside of the outer shims to match the red of the Bobcats. No noise up to this point.
Xenonk
I did not.. can't stand them on the pads.. even on the stock pads I dont even use them. And I dont get any squealing either. The only thing I used were the brake retaining clips on the bracket. Keefe
TRS
..can't stand them on the pads.. Just aesthetics or something else?
LittleBlueGT
I did not use the shims either. It gives you slightly better brake feel. So far with my Bobcats no noise. If I get a lot of noise I might put them in, but I have had them now for about 4000 kms. Full tune of 68HTA, KSTech 73 MAF, Racer X FMIC and ID1000s................by the DataLog Mafia!!! Xenonk
Just aesthetics or something else? they are anti-squeal shims from what I remember.. not necessary to have them on the brakes Keefe
SpudGT
Thanks for the input. I will install the Bobcats without the shims (can always put them on later if I run into noise problems).
magnetic1
Thanks for the input. I will install the Bobcats without the shims (can always put them on later if I run into noise problems). Just dont put the goo on the backing plate... if you do and decide you want to put the shims on later, youre going to have a tough time getting all that goop off. For those who do use the shims, please be careful of the little "tongues" that stick out. If they arent lined up right, you WILL have TONS of noise.
