I know other sites have regulations around needed X number of posts before you can link pics or X number of post before you can put something in the member classified. IMO this would be a good idea for us. Looks like a lot of people come here to whore their stuff :(

^ I agree with this. Make a minimum, but don't make it so nuts that it's impossible. I have an account on clubsi.com from when I sold my CRX two years ago. I went back on to sell some wheels from the Mini that fit Civics as well - guess what? 50 post minimum to post a FS thread - reason given was scams. I ended up posting them on Craigslist and they sold in a week or two....they would have gone ASAP on clubsi, but oh well. Not my problem.

You linked 4 threads or so, are there a lot more? I think I would be more worried if there were a ton that were clogging up the site.

I saw 2 today then looked at the last few pages of classifies going back ~7 days and found 4 threads. You do have a good point about it being stuff Legacy people might want.

We will leave it up to Tide just kicking around ideas.

I don't know, personally I don't have a problem with it. It's just more parts we can buy on the cheap. There might be people that aren't really interested in participating on the forum, but they have Legacy parts for sale and figure this is a good audience to potentially sell them to. I'm talking about individuals here; I've seen some vendors trying to use the forum to advertise their stuff -- wheels or whatever -- who are not registered as vendors here and don't post at all. That kind of spam shouldn't be allowed, but I think that's something that can be handled by Subietonic or one of the other mods.

One concern I would have is if people are getting Wenzeled (shafted) on some of these deals with n00bs. If there is a problem of a lot of people getting screwed on transactions with these guys, maybe we could add a warning tag or something to the classified posts of guys with less than X posts. Or, if nothing else, maybe we could at least have a sticky warning that there is greater risk in doing transactions with new posters. Some of these guys are active on other boards, so their credibility can be looked into somewhat.

Like rclark, I'm just bouncing around some ideas here.
