see_obxt
... wanted to test trive my car. He wants to get rid his truck and downsize to something more practical. I just finished washing my OBXT and said sure. We took it down the street and then he opened it up. It's still stock. He drove it fast and hard for a few miles, out on the main streets and back. He broke only a few speed limits. He said, "dang what a sleeper" He definately wants one now. Think it was a mistake to let him test drive it? Aczwild
Nope now you'll get out of some speeding tickets. The more people that know about how good Subarus are, the better JDM'd All to hell Thanks Jimmy @ Hkc-Speed.com! RIP Coxx & Thanks

red beast
from Subaru Drive magazine Follow-up Report In 2002 we purchased an Outback and turned it into one of the few police cars of its kind in the United States. We shared our story in the summer 2002 Drive magazine. I’m back to report our first high-speed chase using it: On a Sunday evening, two murder suspects were driving toward our little town. I jumped in the Outback and participated in pursuit. Our little Outback chased those suspects for 95 miles at speeds over 105 mph and still had more to give. We went through roads that were dry and some with heavy rain. The Outback kept on going while the other cars had to watch for hydroplaning. I was called off after the 95 miles with the gas light coming on. Not bad, considering I started with less than half a tank. And, yes, the bad guys were caught and taken to jail! see_obxt
Subarus as police cars. Interesting. I heard somewhere either Vail or Brek has a BMW X5. They bought them stripped down, but that only figures.

SoldonSubie
Subarus as police cars. Interesting. I heard somewhere either Vail or Brek has a BMW X5. They bought them stripped down, but that only figures. I read that they had a very basic model of the XC90.
melayout
From http://www.cnn.com/2006/AUTOS/funonwheels/01/19/best_cars_for_cops/index.html : While they may be losing market share elsewhere, domestic carmakers seem to have a virtual lock on the police car market. Volvo submitted a car for testing a few years ago, Wilson said, and Subaru inquired about doing so. But non-U.S. branded police cars remain a rare sight on American roads. klaus
And, yes, the bad guys were caught and taken to jail! David Szambelan Asst.
