Drifting STi
I have an STI but just bought a 1998 Legacy Wagon for a beater. It has 170K Miles:icon_surp But it runs well. Now here is my newbee question: The Steering wheel is very sloopy. It has lots of play. What should I start replacing? BTW If there is a specific forum or section I should be posting in, let me know. GTsleeper
well first thing is to check-- front end parts, if all are good then have someone in the car turning the wheel & see where the slop is going. is it steering turn slop or the whole interior stuff loose
P06781
I had a 98 outback and putting on a rear sway bar, front strut bar, and some wrx stock wheels made a huge difference. Jim
Drifting STi
Thanx for the replies, Like GT sleeper said. I'm going to start with a visual inspection and go from there. Jim, does the stock STi front and rear sway bar fit the wagon? That would be so good if it did.

wukindada
If the steering wheel feels very sloppy.....check the Rack & pinion that is most likely the culprit. Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!
Drifting STi
Thanx Wukindada How much would a rack cost me, if its really the problem?
