L7 Emblem Owners - Need Pics

One thing to notice is that mine doesn't have that chrome ring around the decal. I figured it was redundant since you can see plenty of the chrome rim on the original badge with this overlay. You can request it without the ring if you want to. That silver one up a couple posts is a good comparison of what it looks like with and without the ring. The front emblem has it and the back one doesn't. I didn't put it on either one.

the only problem with that plan is that the emblem was designed with the ring in mind. Taking the ring off means the logo doesn't reach the edge like it's supposed to. Perhaps I should rework it....one for the ring, one without?

At least, this is always what I think of when people talk about L7.

And of course they got it from the 50's

L7 (adj.) 1. square; having an overly conventional outlook. Example: (from the lyrics of Wooly Bully, by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs) Hattie told Mattie, Let's not take no chance, Let's not be L7, Come and learn to dance. 2. one in ten million.

NOTE: The word square, meaning old-fashioned in outlook, was popular in the 1950's and 1960's, when people who did not like all the new song and dance fads were regarded as "square". L7 (featured in the lyrics of Wooly Bully) means square because it looks like you write down two edges of the square with the L and the other two with the 7, requiring a straight descender on the 7.

(:icon_lol: even if it is supposed to be Legacy Turbo)

sorry if this is just a bit off topic

I was reading through this thread and noticed that nobody mentioned L7 as in 'square'. If ddub hadn't brought this up, I was going to say something. (but you put it so much better than I would have said it, ddub) :D

Hmm, a box is a square, so with that rationale... box = square = L7 So, can we call Subie engines: L7'er (something to the 'boxer' effect) or L7R

*way off topic, just please, no flaming the noob* :icon_tong

took two hour to make.

45 min = art work to size (vector) / cut vinyl

45 min = sand grill flat / remove old logo / cut new plastic (1/8")

30 min = lay vinyl and 3M tape (VHB)

DIY = free

I could have sent you the vector file. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your proportions are off with respect to duplicating the original OEM badge. If that wasn't your goal, then good jerb!! :)

I just installed badges on the front grille, the trunk lid and the steering wheel. The first two ones were easily installed and aligned; but the one on steering wheel doesn't look so fine. More difficult to align, and the logo stars are not flush with its surface (the original one I mean). That means it looks like it has air bubbles below, but they aren't: they are the stars bumps. The logo in the steering wheel is recessed, so it's more difficult to align. I ended cutting its edge after installing.

But overall, I'm satisfied with the looks it gives my car. I combined them with the winglet emblem I got from Chenc, and that makes the complete statement!
