dave g Posted June 10 Posted June 10 For perspective, I’ve been driving a 2019 Mustang 5.0 coupe for six years and 13 legacy .3.6R with eyesight for the last seven years. I’m looking at going to a single car option. On Saturday I drove a 2023 at the dealer and I was crazy about the tech and the features. the next day, I saw this review of the same car in the local paper. I didn’t notice any excessive sway during my test driven nor did I listen to the radio or check out the operation of the infotainment system. He was wrong about the lack of adjustment on the rear seat reclining feature. I plan to go back and revisit the other issues he raised. Any owners care to weigh in? https://www.pressreader.com/usa/pittsburgh-post-gazette/20250608/283622471044921
silverton Posted June 10 Posted June 10 The infotainment system in this generation is infuriatingly slow and by far the biggest complaint by owners. so much so that the new models are going to have buttons again. 1
bmart Posted June 11 Posted June 11 There are tons of problems reported with the electronics in general and the cars weaving at speed and in the wind.
DrD123 Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I have a 24 sport - while I wish it had a manual transmission every day, it's a very solid car - the FA24T is a solid engine. Definitely ditch the factory tires, but other than that it's great. I don't have any issues with the entertainment system, but other than changing channels while driving, I don't interact with it a whole ton.
bmart Posted June 11 Posted June 11 There's a lot of newer car owner info on this site. A little searching might help you find what you're loking for. https://www.thesubaruforums.com/ 1
MoleMan Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Honestly. Keep that Coyote 5.0 and then get the newer Outback. Reason is you are gonna want it back as soon as you sell it. In my area Outbacks are everywhere. So they are a huge blur. If you are gonna compare maybe go look look at an Audi A6 wagon or something similar. But once again have no clue on the budget as Audis can get pricy. But as mentioned keep the Mustang.

Six years and 57,000 miles has been a good run but my insurance has gone up 40% over the last two years like many of you and I don’t really need two cars. A lot of other things add up. Priorities change. I hate to see it go. I’ve had it since June 2019. Every day during Covid I got in it and just drove somewhere. I’ll leave you with this. My friend loved my car so much that he tracked down a new 2019 Bullitt sitting in the showroom with 3 miles on it in North Carolina. I drove him down in January 2020 to pick it up just before Covid. He got it for $10,000 off the sticker. I told him if I knew about that deal I would’ve not bought mine in July 2019. He told me that every time he drives that car he feels like he is in high school driving with a girl that puts out.

Besides they get too illegal too fast. My Mustang hasa manual transmission. I know the automatics are faster, but I don’t care. I drove my friend’s widebody challenger automatic. I think it had a 490 hp engine. Tires broke loose way too easy.

In my neck of the woods the 80 MPH speed limit is more of a suggestion. Most locals set the cruise around 90. We had a 2019 widebody scat pack challenger. The automatic sucks in that car. The manual trans really gives a different feel that really gives that car justice. As far as the stang I would expect nothing but a manual. I was offered a Shelby GT 500 Convertible a few months ago from a buddy that is a sales manager at a dealer. Loved the car. Hated the seats and the fact ford still had the old school antenna in the fender. But the power and was incredible. As far as your insurance rates. My rates went up maybe ten percent in the last few years. However I live in the middle of nowhere Wyoming so maybe that's the reason.
dave g Posted June 23 Author Posted June 23 I bought the 2024 XT Touring and love it. Just drove 2 hours to vacation for a week. 0 issues. 1
