Opie
What springs are you running? Usually when that occurs the spring top hat was not aligned on the strut correctly.
AWDxBOOST
usually^ the spring may not be seated properly in the first place, but thats kind of hard to do
jah64
Mine have also been clunking lately, intermittently too, I can't repeat it. I have Swift Sport Machs and Swift sway bars. Not sure what is that is clunking though, How can the top hats rotate?

hifiandmtb
This sounds like exactly what happens when you don't run properly "captive" springs. Your springs don't seem to be properly matched to the shock. The shock at full stretch should hold the spring in tension - quite a bit of tension. If the top hat/spring is rotating, you need to shorten your shock shaft...which is rather difficult when running OEM shocks. For example, Bilstein offer two shock types - B6 Sport & B8 Sprint. B6 can handle mild lowering, but the B8 has a shorter shaft for more extreme lowering.
jah64
I just jacked up the car and rotated the spring so it sit properly in the perch. Not hard to do. Jaxx what is the alignment feature for the top hat? Waiting for the crunch crunch.
