Sorry for the bad pictures. I just took them at night and there is a lot of flash. I'll take some better pics in the day time tomorrow but for now these will do.

All we did was cut everything out the middle and fiberglass or bondo the holes from the cutting. Afterwards get the sandpaper ready to get rid of anything that is uneven. Bondo the mesh to the back of the grill and give it to a body shop for paint. The body shop friend of mine said he had to sand it down even more and then he put really good quality gray primer on it. Then got the paint out and applied a few coats.

Mesh was courtesy of cjk911 (Chris), It was one of those aluminum apc pieces probably found in local autozone type stores. Then I painted it black but will have to do it over and over again once in awhile after rock chips cause the paint to chip. We used bondo or fiberglass to hold the mesh down. If you have careful hands you won't messy up the front but the back of it won't look gorgeous. Who looks behind the grill anyways?

Grill looks good. Did you paint it with plain black or did you add the stock flake? Or did you do both. Just wondering what you did and how it looks up close (can't tell from the pics).

Also, are any of you guys in northern VA who have a new grill trying to part with your old one? I'm thinking about making one myself instead of dropping 300 bones, but I don't want to risk screwing up my only grill.
