Flxr_88
I was looking to buy a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT, and the guy had a folder FULL of records. While taking a look through, I noticed he got a used CVT transmission from JDM Works, and ever since, the cruise control has not worked. I'm not too worried about it working, as I can drive perfectly fine on the highway without, but am wondering if anyone had this problem, and has a fix. I put the info on the car below, please let me know if you see anything that may pose future problems as well. Thank you!
silverton
2005 with a CVT? Excuse me? Does not compute buddy. If the car was originally an automatic and is now a manual it would make sense that the cruise control doesn't work.
Flxr_88
Im pretty new to this. Always was an manual. had a transmission swap, and now the cruise control does not work. Not a CVT, did a quick search. was a JDM transmission swap not a CVT, a little slow in the head.
silverton
since the pedals are swapped maybe they broke the clutch safety switch and rigged it, hard to say without having the car and performing diagnostics.
Flxr_88
Only errors that were showing was an error for a bad cam sensor and vacuum leak which the guy is getting fixed rn. The pedals were switched for Sti pedals but not sure when. I can take a look if I buy the car. Thanks for the help!
