SC GT
I'm thinking about getting a Pro Tune, but if Cali switches to "winter gas," I would rather it be done on the "summer gas". Does anyone know? And if so, is the "winter gas" already out?
Boostjunkie
Yes, we do have winter gas. The difference isn't as big as in some other states since our summer gas sucks so much already. I don't notice a power difference, but I have lost a MPG or two on the more heavily oxygenated winter blend.
Flanders
I wasmn't even thinkng about it since the weather has been nice. I am down 2-3 MPG the last 2 weeks.

SC GT
In thinking about it, it would probably be better for me to get ProTuned with the crappier winter gas. At least I'll be optimally tuned for the worst case scenario. Better gas should only help, not hurt. On the other hand, if I get tuned on summer gas, the crappy winter gas could potentially adversely affect that tune. Do you guys agree?
Mines
haha, if u get accessport, you can have one map for crappy winter gass and one for summer gas
SBT
Actually your rationale makes a lot of sense but I'm not sure that the tune would make best advantage of the better (more like less-crappy) summer fuel. I've noticed a drop in MPG too. Didn't even register that it was the change in the fuel mixture. I've always run Shell 91 and don't notice any difference in the fuel burn exhaust smell though. Boostjunkie
My tune was done on winter gas. It's plenty quick right now. Although I'm sure that if you were tuned on a 100*F+ day there would be plenty of safety margin for winter gas in much colder temps.
