^ It's a W7 it needed the whole space, I throw the spare in the trunk when go'n on long trips.....The normal box took up 1/2 my trunk......couldn't keep it like that. Plus no real way for me to secure it, and the way I drive, it needed to be :D

See, WAY to big for the sedan trunk:

WTH happened to your center console?? The finish is rubbed off??

Yeah, gross huh, I always put my Cell phone there standing up....it slides around a lil I guess, you can't really see it when your in the car, the flash makes it look worse.....

I like the sub control placement. Does it interfere with a drink though?? I might try to put mine in vertically, in the corner. It's not used that frequently, so accessible < looks.

I love it there......no drink interf. yet....I've had gatorade, water bottle, D&D coffe's, phone, and other misc stuff in there....the other place I was gonna put it was in the center console.....(only if you don't change it much) but I LOVE the placement cuz I listen to such a wide range of music its awesome to have the bass control right there for easy access.......ummm easy access........:munch:

I just looked that sub up on google... holy crap its deep... Must hit hard as hell...

Yeah it does.....that's why I LOVE the bass control..

I'll never forget an experience I had when demo'ing a car to the guy picking it up after installing it. One of my customers was a major investor in Jenson Transducers...the company that supplies parts for 'Bass Shakers', the vibrating gizmos under the seat that Alpine, Aura and others sold.

Basically, they cause a vibration, giving the impression of more bass without having a big box in the trunk. The guy had us do multiple cars for him and his 81yr old father picked one up. I showed him how the level control worked and he quipped "It just makes my asshole quiver" :icon_lol:

Yea, a GF is part of the reason I opted for the 5EAT, but... Im somewhat regretting the 5EAT now... hrmm...

Back on topic... Depending on what happens with that ******* cracked windshield... Im hoping to get some JL 10w1 or w3's... I was talking to the install guy and he said that the w1 would probably be better for my application and that the w3 wouldnt perform as well as I would want them to considering the $ and space, ect... Anyone have input on this? They will be installed in the side fender area's with the fiberglass boxes.

Also, would it be more effective/better to just get 1 10w3 as opposed to 2 10w1 (basically I can buy 2 w1's for the price of a w3... but I dont think that would be as hammering as I would like it to be...). Or would I still be better off just to get the w1's or 2 - w3's?

If I pass you on the right, I'm flipping you off.

Nice install, good work integrating the W7. I'm worried it'll get hammered by things rolling around the trunk tho. Here's an off the wall idea - mount your spare on top of it. (hope it isn't a solid rim, your sub would launch it thru the trunk lid!) I have no idea if that would work, but kinda an interesting approach to stealth...

Whatever, it's late.
