StepHeavy
Hello, I have been searching around for information on what to do about a failing power steering pump, I live in the US and own a 96 GT-B wagon with the 2L twin turbo stock build imported from Japan. Since this engine build wasn't used in the US I have no way of easily finding a replacement pump or a rebuild kit specifically for it. Calling around to shops in my area has come up with nothing and everyone saying it's just not possible to rebuild. I have only been able to find one pump online that looks far older and used than mine (I'm around 55k miles) so paying to ship it from japan is highly risky considering I have also been unable to find the exact part number to match it. I'm coming here in hopes that someone is a bit better at this than I am or has some useful knowledge on either the exact part number or if there are any US models that share the same pump as my vehicle. I have only had the car a year and it's starting to appear as if the failing pump is just gonna mean the end of my vehicle before it even reaches 60k miles. I am stuck and lost. Any advice will really help, thank you in advance.
silverton
i generally use opposedforces for jdm part look up, but I am not seeing a 2.0 turbo gt-b model showing for the "B12 93-98" legacy.
StepHeavy
There is a B11 EU 2000CC that might be exactly what I need. It doesn't have the GT-B option specifically but now I have a few potential part numbers to match, I appreciate you.
ZMAN24250
I dont know the intricacies of the JDM legacy vs the USDM but is there any chance the USDM wrx P/S pump is nearly the same? I have a JDM EJ205 with a suspected bad P/S pump and from the best I can tell, a ~04 wrx pump is the same.
