ashwinearl
hi all, 2005 Legacy GT wagon with some mods and etune. It has always had some behavior where after reving, rpms fall pretty fast and go below typical idle then hunt back up. Lately, this has been worse and almost seems to stall. This is similar to right after you reset the ECU and don't warm it up or drive it hard. I recall somewhere someone saying this type of behavior might indicate a leak or faulty BPV? regardless I think I am going to have someone do a smoke test for any leaks. any insight would be helpful. Thanks.
Max Capacity
One common question, have you cleaned the MAF sensor lately ? If you have a air compressor, you can do a boost/vacuum leak test by using a pint size paint can to plug the hose off the air filter box, remove the small hose from the BOV and give that a quick blast of air, put your thumb over the hose, listen for leaks. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. ashwinearl
Cleaning MAF helped a lot. Thanks for the reminder. I should have known. I have not been keeping up on basic diligence like cleaning the MAF.
