Riverwolf
Hello am currently semi-offgrid camping and driving an '97 Legacy wagon which (after a bit of off-road adventuring) now the front oxygen sensor has 3 (one "black" & the other two "white") wires hanging down from broken connector piece (with male plug part missing) running towards the engine compartment area with the other 3 wires being blue, red & yellow striped and the other black and yellow and hoping anyone could possibly tell me which would be the correct sequence to temporarily wire together until able to get back into town without doing anymore damage please..any help/suggestions awesomely appreciated thank you please. Infosecdad
If I recall correctly, the two whites go to the R/Y and B/Y, and the Black matches to the Black (or Blue) on the wiring harness.
doublechaz
If those wires go to the rear oxygen sensor I wouldn't worry about it until you get back. The rear monitors catalytic converter health. The front sensor is the one that makes the engine run.
