Scubaboo
I am trying to check a used power window motor for a 2010 LGT. Socket has 6 pins. I am wanting know which pins to put power/ground to make the motor turn and verify it's working.
DrD123
Here you go - it's either pins 1+4 or 3+6 depending on which side of the car it's on for the power leads (they all have 6 pins, but only the front left uses all 6, the others just use 2) Edited October 27, 2021 by DrD123
Scubaboo
Thanks DrD! Sorry I am fairly new at reading wiring diagrams, are the socket pin diagrams read outside looking into the socket, or from inside the socket looking outwards? cww516
Looks like that depends- if the terminal numbers (or at least 1-2 of them) aren't labeled on the connector, I'd go based on wire color.
Scubaboo
Thanks cww, looks like its outside looking in. I only have the window regulator assembly available so I cant verify via wire colors, but will keep that in mind too.
Scubaboo
I finally got around to this today. I have the used driver's side motor regulator assembly in front of me. After a bit of head scratching I believe I got the pin out figured out. It's pin 3 and 6 to the motor for this socket from DrD's diagram and thanks to the additional info posted by cww516 I was able to get the orientation of these pins on the plug. I checked with a meter and there is continuity. I dont have a 12v power supply in the house though and I dont feel like going to the garage tonight to get 12v from the car to test the motor, will update further when I get to it.
