Any help. Desperate

Recommended Posts

Hi there all, having some serious issues with my subi. I bought an 08 LGT with the 5EAT transmission. Drove it home and immediately started having issues. Wouldn't start, throwing the p0705 code, then it would start, but while driving would throw the code and stop shifting. It's been at the dealer for 3 months. They've changed the valve body, the transmission wiring harness, the TCU, the ECU, the bulkhead wiring harness and now the "body computer" which requires the car being rekeyed, because they're saying the "body computer" claims it's from Australia. They've determined that there's some starter relay that stays energized and won't allow the car to now start. So it went from starting and running sometimes, to now not starting. I'd love to hear from anyone else with this issue and how or if you've been able to resolve.

Well, it sounds like they have finally found the definitive problem, that rely has finally failed for good.

It's tough chasing intermittent issues.

p0705 is EAT position sensor code, looks like they have done so much with the car but not sure if the sensor was diagnosed or not. From the amount of work you listed the expense has to be in thousands of dollars at this point. Not sure what the dealer is going to tell you to replace next but they will continue to throw parts and labor at it as long as you are willing to continue paying.

Was the car flooded? Did you run any VIN checks on it before the purchase? You have not listed your location so it hard to recommend what to do next without knowing your circumstances.
