External Radio Antenna

i asked this same question around June and no one had, i was looking at using a new Mazda 3 or MINI Cooper antenna, i think it is very similar to the VW style. I have the same issues because of the mountains around here. I will look around and see what prices i can dig up for new ones.

I haven't done this myself, but a ricer kid I know once did this on his Civic. You have to drill a small hole in your roof, run the antenna wiring from the antenna to the radio, or at least to the existing antenna wire.

 

Since the antenna is in the back glass for the Legacy, I'm sure that you could locate the antenna wire in the back hatch. Undo the top plastic molding, and you should see it there. Make sure you dont use the defroster grid power line:lol:. It should be easy. The hard part would be getting that antenna on the roof, with you having to cut a hole in the roof and all...
