Check Engine Light and unknown Symbol

I can't find the i symbol anywhere, when I hit the info switch on the steering wheel it only says check engine. Has anyone seen or know what the symbol means without me taking it to the shop.

The "i" means something requires your attention. In this case "check engine" is what provoked it. If you don't have a scanner it needs to go to the shop.

When the "check engine" light is displayed, a corresponding DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) will usually be stored in the car's computer(s). If you don't have a code reader yourself, most auto parts stores have one and will read the DTCs for you at no charge. The next step then becomes interpreting what those DTCs mean.
