Cell phone mount suggestions

Recently got a new phone which is quite larger than what I have been using the past couple of years. Usually I would just place the phone, it it’s case, in either the cup holder or the rectangular coin area above them. Now that I have a larger phone it will not fit in these two areas. Just looking to see where everyone is keeping their phone.

When I need to use my phone for nav I tend to put it in the storage opening above the coin holder. It sits nicely with the lip that’s on the right side. Not sure which phone u have or what case u have I do sell phone for a living might help to know.... if it does slip out of that spot putting something in behind it to keep it upright has worked for me with my iPhone 11 Pro in a commuter series otterbox which is a more squared case. With that said if I’m racing around I put it in my cup holder which fits snug. So I would assume you have most likely a newer Samsung s21 and case that doesn’t support the size of the cup holder. In that case you can choose a magnetic mount but that would stop the ability of wireless charging. There are vent mounts which I hate. My wife has a CD player mount for her car but then again it shadows over the headunit itself. Then there is the dash mounts which puts the phone out of easy reach. If control is the issue then the door handle to your left fits any phone to date. If watching the display for nav is more important then once again I would get it in that cubby. There is a mount that goes into most cup holders as well some of the Uber drivers use them I enjoy a clean look so I stay away but for function they would hold any phone and or tab for that matter. Thanks for the suggestions. I had an S7 in a Speck grip case for the past 5 years and I would place it in the coin holder, fit in there slightly diagonally. Recently picked up the S21+ in a Spigen Slim Armor case and it’s too big to fit in the cup holder too. Tried many of those magnetic mounts, this new phone is too heavy and even with the S7 they never held the phone in place for long. Gave a cup holder mount a whirl but it places the phone in an awkward position, not to mention the holder itself barely fits the phone. There is a screw under the lower trim panel near the rear defrost button that holds the HVAC component in place. Might have to use some thin aluminum sheeting and jerry rig something to hold the phone where the coin tray is.

been using the magnetic ones in all my cars. so far so good. holds up my iphone xs max, now 12 pro and my oneplus 6t. no issues
