megamastermike101
I just bought a 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5i in great shape with 153k on it and the timing belt, water pump and head gaskets were replaced at 116k but the guy did not have any record of the manual trans fluid ever being changed this might be a dumb question but this is my first manual car and I know that in a automatic if you don’t know if the fluid has been changed you should leave it alone but is it the same case for a manual trans ? Should I change the fluid or leave it alone? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Max Capacity
Is there a dip stick on the passenger side by the firewall ? I'm not up on 2.5i's. Here's the service manual, http://people.csail.mit.edu/ilh/vacation/ The fluid should be change or at least topped off. Hint, you never get all the old fluid out when changing it. So don't over fill it when putting the new fluid in. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
