BougieTheSubie
Hello, So a few weeks ago early morning driving to work I managed to spill coffee on my dash, and wreck my Radio/AC controls. Since then I've bought a few replacements (non of which were what I ordered) got a 2006 outback unit and a 05 unit (with basic temp controls) So I ordered the touch screen unit and the basic ac controls, So my question is will I be able to convert or Use the basic controls on my car with it previously being a dual temp control and auto climate with screen ? blackobxt
So, question, why did you just buy a bunch of random replacements some of which I’ve never heard of?
blackobxt
Also no, to my knowledge a basic unit will not control a dual zone unit. The outback unit is the exact same as a legacy and I’m super curious as to what the touch screen unit is. You will likely need dual zone controls, and I doubt there is a way around it
BougieTheSubie
So, question, why did you just buy a bunch of random replacements some of which I’ve never heard of? So the parts weren't per say " random " they were ordered off Ebay with a picture of the one I needed, And the description was correct on both. However both sellers Sent me two different units than they had shown in the ad. Are you sure the 2006 outback one would fit tho ? Because the hazard button is on the wrong side, and they added a cassette player under the Disk input which I assume would make the unit to large to fit. If you've ever sold anything on Ebay, you know that PayPal is a pain in the ass as a seller because they always side with the buyer. Since you paid for a product that was different than what you received, it would save you a lot of hassle to send it back. Look for an 05 unit (or whatever the proper one is for your car) from a junkyard and your life will be made easier. Sadly, I tossed my OEM head unit because nobody wanted to buy it. I'd have shipped it to ya for nothing
Tehnation
If your going to get a new radio/ac unit, get the newer 07+ one with the aux input button.
