'06 OBXT Akebono Brake Pads

I have a '06 OBXT 5eat and I am installing the LGT caliper/rotor/pad/SS line upgrade.

I am using:

-Stoptech blank rotors

-NAPA Eclipse calipers

-Akebono Ceramic pads

-Stoptech SS brake lines

When putting the pads onto the calipers with the clips installed, it seems like there are (2) wear clips on the Akebono pads (pics included). Clip 1 interferes with the caliper clip that goes inside the caliper.

Do you recommend cutting off this clip to fit? Will clip 2 provide wear indication as well?

Thanks,

Eric

I believe that thin one is a return spring type feature, it pushes against the outer surface on the caliper bracket. Edited by Max Capacity
