BrettCowie02
Ive got a manual ez30 legacy, I wanna mash the Insides of the catylac converter out or get it cut out and replaced with a pipe, has anyone done this before? Does it cause an engine light to come on? Or ruin the back pressure? How much difference does it make to the noise? It already has the rear mufflers removed and replaced with koby mufflers I think. It has a nice sound but it's not very loud, so wondering if this will increase the noise and will be worth doing. Cheers.
AWDFTW
There is nothing to gain by doing this. Yes, you'll have check engine lights. No you shouldn't do it.
nevets27
Back pressure isn't a thing. It will be noisier. You will get a check engine light. Like it's been said, don't do it. If you want more noise remove the center muffler (resonator), that will make it nice and noisy, and will drone. If you want even more noise, and to remove a slight restriction, remove the 3rd cat in the y pipe. Likely the best way to get the most noise without completely ruining the sound is just a straight muffler delete, leaving the rest alone. Listen to some YouTube clips, tons out there with pretty much every configuration.
