Motor is back in, but I have an issue

Recommended Posts

I’ve been driving the car with mixed results. Normal driving it’s fine. Get on it (high boost/high rpm) and the miss develops.

I ordered a coil. Nobody locally has one so I want to have it in hand if I need to swap it. It’s drivable the way it is. Albeit boring! Rock auto for the ngk coil. $80 on my doorstep.

Should be here tomorrow. It set the same p0303 twice. Money says I messed up that coil. But I didnt want to move it until I have a replacement. I might kill it and make it undriveable

I’ll keep you guys posted.

...it's more of a rubber flap on the inside of the rubber tube. The idea is that it seals to the ridge on the intercooler,...

I think the actual idea is for the thing to leak if you push past 14 PSI and make a funny noise to get you to take it to the dealership, because i run 17 with no leaks by just removing it.

Changed the offending coil today. It seems fixed. 2 third gear runs to the redline at WOT with no miss at all.

Doesn’t look like anything much wrong with it. That one layer wasn’t separated like that when I took it out and put the paint on it. Maybe the paint got in there and spread it. Who knows.
