honeybunch2222
Hi folks, I have a Legacy Gt 2008, all stock, only Oil catch can and GFB BOV and strait exhaust, but stock downpipe. I can't reach my target boost of 12 psi I think its 12 psi the target boost. First I was only reaching 7-8 PSI, I rant my own smoke test no leak in IC or intake. Now time to test Boost control Solenoid. I disconect all Hose from the Boost Control Solenoid, run the car, with gentle acceleration, Wow I reached 17-18PSI on 2-3 pulls. I conclude My boost control solenoid is stuck, I replace it, by a brand new. Boost control solenoid, replaced, but now I can reach 9-10 PSI but not more. I need your help guys, Have you a idea? Maybe its the T with the restrictive pill? need your input. :)
Dalee1104
How long have you had the blow off valve installed? Was it reaching target boost with that guy on? Or is it doing this after the install of the BOV?
Infosecdad
Which GFB BOV and have you adjusted the spring load on it?
kiki86
Did you check wastegate duty?

Its very hard to say, honestlly I don't made the test ? maybe I'm better to try with stock bov ? but when I have disconecte the boost control solenoide I have reached 17-18 psi with the GFB BOV. honeybunch2222
Did you check wastegate duty? Can I check that with a app liek torque on andoid? Or I must have a accessport?
kiki86
Can I check that with a app liek torque on andoid? Or I must have a accessport? maybe yes, but with romraider it's easier
honeybunch2222
maybe yes, but with romraider it's easier I understand, if I bouy a USB to obd2 can I install romraider on my laptop and try?

moral hazard
Your best bet is buy a tactrix 2.0 cable. Not only can you use romraider logger to check your boost target and your actual manifold pressure, you can change the WGDC table in the rom/ecu via ecuflash. However there would be some reason why on a stock car you don't reach correct boost levels. Logging and reviewing the log may help identify what is happening . Thanks for the hint, maybe its my only option, or bring my car to a specialised subaru garage.
Dalee1104
In every instance that I've seen if these engine run an aftermarket blow off valve without them being tuned in they can run pretty harshly. With the factory recirc valve the car recirculates that extra boost during a shift back into the intake manifold and the car is tuned to see that extra air coming in. With a atmospheric blowoff valve that air is getting expelled out which is why you can here it but then the engine isnt seeing that extra air when its tuned to normally want to see it so it can run a little rough. I slapped a bov on my spec b for shits and gigs and the car maybe made 8psi when it was supposed to be at 16 and then the car stalled during a shift. After that immediately went back to stock recirc. I may be totally wrong but if you want your car to run happily with that blown off valve you'll want to get it tuned in

This is why I can't understand what is the problem, and right now I replace the Boost control Solenoid, and I can't reach more than 10 PSI. Dalee1104
well the boost control solenoid is in place to control boost levels so unplugging it i'm not surprised you saw a large number. Again, like i stated, i may be wrong but me personally i would take the five minutes to put the stock recirc back on and see what happens.
Marvick08GT
I had a similar issue. Verify that the factory T at the turbocharger still has the boost restrictor pill and it is in the correct spot. Should be in the side coming directly from the compressor. That corrected my issue. The PO replaced the vacuum line not realizing it had a restrictor pill in it. Originally put it on the wastegate side, boost increased, but still almost 5psi off. Then I installed it on the pressure side, and the boost has been good ever since. Good luck!
honeybunch2222
Hi, a little update, I have try with the OEM bov, same problem.
