When was the timing belt kit replaced ?

How old are the spark plugs ?

When was the tranny and rear diff fluid changed ?

Make sure the engine runs well and is good shape before you start spending big money.

The turbos seem to be a weak spot if not taken care of.

have the two ground wires from the heads/exhaust to the chassis been replaced ?

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.

It's a Subaru, there are no "cheap" mods lol

I would start with what Max Capacity mentioned although an oil analyses might be a little over kill unless there is know issues or any components such as turbo or internal failure have occurred in the past.

The usual bolt-ons will do but first get yourself an Accessport before any motor related mods

Max is right on the money. I would drive the car for about a full year after all maintenance is preformed to insure it is solid. Then start adding small things. AP first with a real tune, not some OTS that you run for 3 years.

also do not cut corners.
