Tsunamijedi Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Im currently looking at a 2005 legacy gt wagon, it has 160k miles, head gasket changed at 88k, looks very well taken care of, what do you guys think? would you buy it? i talked it down to $5700, heres a link https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/d/bothell-2005-subaru-25l-legacy-gt/6924537381.html
dgoodhue Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 With 160k miles on the original motor and turbo, they a crap shoot at this mileage and age. If a replacement motor and turbo are not in your budget, I would look for a different vehicle.

In my experience, those cars tend to be better taken care of and are more likely to have meaningful maintenance/repair/upgrade records.
YeuEmMaiMai Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 at 160K? nope, 100% pass you are talking about a 13-14 year old car with a ton of miles on a turbocharger and who knows what else is ready to break on it.
