kenmopo
I just picked up my new (to me) 1998 Legacy Outback. I am very pleased so far but it would be nice to have a folding "switchblade" style key and fob. I haven't had a lot of time to search and was hoping that this had been already covered. Thank you! Brighton96
I haven't seen that done but most skilled locksmiths can mill the switch blade key to the profile of our keys, assuming the switch blade starts out thicker.
kenmopo
I have seen switchblade cases on eBay that include a blank, folding key. Trouble is I have yet to find a blank key/case and the proper electronics PCB for a 98 Legacy Outback.
AWDFTW
Never seen it done on one that old.
kenmopo
That seems to be the case. Option: Get an all-in-one "integrated" key and fob. There's a YouTube vid on programming so I just need to buy the key.
kenmopo
Here is the Amazon link for the YouTube key. They want $36 and most reviews are bad. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074G1TPFF/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=jrob-20&linkId=c6178628b23ed15fcb3716a49a2af9b2
