  1. I have actually just picked up the V-Power plugs and will get to work on them tomorrow. How can I check the wires to see if they're still ok (other than if the CEL goes away)?
  2. Are you recommending NGK V-Power (copper) over the G-Power (platinum)? Is the NGK part number for the V-Power plug 6953? https://www.ngk.com/product.aspx?zpid=9308
  3. I want to replace all of the plugs on my '98 Legacy with 197K miles. I am getting a CEL Error Code: P0304 and the logical 1st troubleshooting step is the plugs. Looking at the O'Reilly Auto site (there is a store just down the block from my home) there is a wide selection. Is there a big difference between NGK Iridium IX ($6.99) and G-Power Platinum ($3.99) or NGK Copper Core ($2.19)? I need to keep my costs down with this car.
  4. Any idea if this will work on a 98 Legacy? Subaru has the part number key from the OP's thread for $78. Amazon for $40.
  5. Here is the Amazon link for the YouTube key. They want $36 and most reviews are bad. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074G1TPFF/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=jrob-20&linkId=c6178628b23ed15fcb3716a49a2af9b2
  6. That seems to be the case. Option: Get an all-in-one "integrated" key and fob. There's a YouTube vid on programming so I just need to buy the key.
  7. I have seen switchblade cases on eBay that include a blank, folding key. Trouble is I have yet to find a blank key/case and the proper electronics PCB for a 98 Legacy Outback.
  8. I just picked up my new (to me) 1998 Legacy Outback. I am very pleased so far but it would be nice to have a folding "switchblade" style key and fob. I haven't had a lot of time to search and was hoping that this had been already covered. Thank you!
