I'd also try another key.

 

I've found intermittent things are almost always ground related - check your two engine grounds, and any around the driver footwell - A loose or heavily corroded ground could limit your current flow and cause everything you've listed (except for the starter screech, that's usually a sign it needs greased)

Thanks. I'll carry around a second key in case it doesn't start. That would be a good time to try the second key.

 

 

I'll look around for loose/corroded grounds. Without researching more I only know of the one at the starter bolt. Assuming it's in the manual.
