noahrexion
Got a source on an old highway sign, 3/16 aluminum, had a really nice undamaged section perfect for a skid plate. Can't beat free! Spent about 3 honest hours measuring, cutting, drilling, bending, filing...etc She is all protected now though! The cutout I started with was about 26" wide x 32" long. I didn't make any flares or anything for two reasons: 1) I feel that this thickness is plenty strong as is and doesn't need the perpendicular bends to help deflect/take hits for the type of material I may encounter on forest roads and 2) I really only wanted protection for the oil pan for the most part. This kept it more simple for me.
Setnev
Congrats! It looks fantastic. But I warn, an oil change just got twice as long to do. Also, might as well create a skidplate for the rear diff and front diff too since it looks like you have extra material left over.
