GetAwayDriver
I've had my LGT since May 05 and its only just now that I have done a pretty boneheaded thing. The past 3 days have seen me accidently lift the clutch up too quickly when shifting. First was a small mishap into 2nd from 1st. Second was into 2nd to 3rd and today I was driving home when I did it going into 5. It was only for a second at most and I definately did not force it. Did I do any really serious damage? I love my car and obviously want to protect my investment (depreciating at that). I have to really get my shit together...
-TT-
as long as when you lifted it, the clutch caught and didnt sit there and burn i doubt you did anything that bad to it i have been accidentally doing something like that due to a new pair of shoes. its like driving manual with a wooden board strapped to your foot. GetAwayDriver
It made the noise for no longer than a second. I clutch in, back to neutral, and then go again. I feel like a moron. Odd how you relapse eh?
adamgt
if you are really worried about it you might want to change your transmission fluid... but if you only did it a few times then it shouldnt be too much of a problem.

Max Capacity
Grinding the gears is not a bad thing if you only do it once in a while. Don't worry about it. Over the years I've done it a more then a few times, no problems. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).
