Jade.Auria
Hello! So, as the title says, it's time for new struts on my 2010 GT. I am going to upgrade the springs at the same time with swift sports. That said, I can only seem to find KYB Excel G as the only option for replacement (other than probably going to the dealership and paying double for probably the same strut haha) and so I was just curious if that's all there is available? I know the Excel G is a good OE replacement but I am hoping the swift sport springs help tighten things up a bit. I am not really interested in jumping to coilovers right now and don't really want anything that stiff but a little bit stiffer than stock would be nice. What do you think? I am open to any input and experience you guys have with suspension. I know you all love the Konis but I can't find anything on those anymore. Seems like I missed that ship. :/ Oh, and, I have read through the suspension thread but a lot of it seems to be just long enough ago that I missed out on some cool stuff. Maybe I am mistaken. DrD123
Konis are still readily available - 8610-1447Sport or 8610-1453Sport for the front (cut-a-struts) and 8010-1055Sport for the rears - you can buy direct from Koni (http://www.koni-na.com) or on Amazon. There are a couple of great threads for info https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/koni-yellow-sport-shocks-2010-legacy-fitment-214426.html https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/koni-shock-strut-epic-engineering-spring-install-145744.html

Somehow, I missed both of those threads! Time to do some research while I wait for my tax return haha.
dgoodhue
One thing to note is that Swift lowering springs do not work with Koni's.
Jade.Auria
One thing to note is that Swift lowering springs do not work with Koni's. Yeah, I saw that when I read through those threads. I am just going to go the easy route and order up what I was originally going to do for now.

If you're willing to wait and pay a little more (because of international shipping), you can opt for the KYB SR Special shocks, specifically made for 5th gen Legacies. It has better (firmer) damping compared to Excel G, you can read all about it on the internet. Locally (here in Asia), they're quite popular here for Subarus with good reviews. Here are the part numbers for 5th gen Legacy: Front: Left - NST5418L Right NST5418R Rear: NSF9173

Scubaboo
US/CA Legacys made in Indiana have different suspension the rest of world Legacys made Gunma Japan. Yes they do, but the struts/springs will fit from what I have researched.
DrD123
the KYBs for the 13/14 have increased damping (both compression and rebound) over the 10-12 KYBs, so if you do go that route, I'd do that!
