stewdogg
Well, I have been nursing my car with a bad wrist pin and plan/hope to make it to spring when I can start riding the motorcycle again. I figured I should start pulling parts together to put it all together, the sooner the better. That wrist pin sucks, no boost and the clatter when cold is scary. I just gotta limp it along for a couple more months. I have around $5,000 to spend on the rebuild and I will be doing all the labor when it comes to pulling the old and in with the new, any machining will be left to the pros. How would you put it together if it were your GT?
FLlegacy
What are your goals for the car?
FLlegacy
I would have a block built and then refresh my heads myself, add ARP studs and some STI cams, STI oil pump, Felpro Gasket set, oem timing set, and water pump.
stewdogg
I guess I just want a stage 2ish that is tough enough to be beat on a bit as a daily driver. I don't want to have to worry about the turbo issues either, so I guess I need the turbo built.

Unless you are really comfortable building the block yourself and checking all the clearances. A built block is around $3k from IAG.
DugsSin
Gotta throw some love in for IAG and impressive Co. that builds it right & can ship it safely anywhere. Good luck with the build the $$$$$ never ends
moral hazard
I'd try and source a 2019 sti shortblock, then get the heads machined and obviously some 2008+ Sti exhaust cams + headstuds as mentioned above.
