IAG short block worth it or not?

Recommended Posts

Have a local guy that is selling a new IAG stage 1 short block with the wrist pin and oil separator cover kit for 2800. I ended up buying the ARP head stud kit off him. Guess he wants to switch to a Focus Rs. I could probably talk him down a little more. I have got a 06 LGT with 140k getting ready to upgrade to a VF52. Just curious if I should pick it up for a decent price to have just in case. Probably won’t do much more upgrades. It already has catless up and down pipes along with AP. I have no issues building/upgrading a short block myself if it ever came to that I work as a full time mechanic. Just looking for any input if it’s worth it

A fresh IAG stage 1 block would be a great choice for your power goals with a VF-52, lots of good rep out there in the Subaru world from IAG for engine builds. If the price is right, its a solid pick. Check out their facility and build videos on the website.
