tornichoe
the danger of locking the keys in the car and losing access to start it causes me to call BS on this one... It doesn't lock the car if it detects the key is inside, or if the car is running. Its actually one of the things I hate, coz I can't lock the car if I need to make a quick run without turning it off. Roll your window down and play around. If it lets you lock the key in, then there is probably something wrong and you should take it to the dealer to get looked at. You will really need to put the key in a strange place for it to think its outside and lock the car, and then not detect it when you try to unlock.
