geddyup
Hello, I have noticed since I put my new ssr 18" wheels on I am hearing an occasional pinging noise from the rear passenger shock area. My tires only added 1/2" total height to the wheels. Any ideas? Thanks Patrick
PGT
pinging noise? Like metallic? Or, just noise. Is it consistent, over bumps or random? Perhaps stickier tires are picking up stuff from the road and throwing it into the wheel wells? Also, re-torque your lugs. They tend to loosen up after a few hundred miles. geddyup
It seems when I turn the car right it makes the noise. Sounds like metal. So it is not random or consistant. I will check the tourqe tonight
03Indigo
maybe a bent dust shield hitting the rotor? Might be worth pulling the wheel off and making sure the moving parts are free of obstructions. is there anyway a wheel weight could be hitting something? On the inside of the rim? dvdt
Had a pebble embedded in the rotor once that pinged the dust shield on my last car.
