smith222
So I'm planning on going with the Tomioka twin scroll set up on my 07 Spec B and had some question when it come to external wastegates. Im currently running their TD05-18g and the only issue I'm having with it is over boost in cold weather. Im hoping the twin scroll wont have the same issue but I want to be prepared. So I know that on a normal up pipe installing a external wastegate is repetitively straight forward but the up pipe that comes with the kit has two pipes as opposed to one. Would I need to run two external wastegates one on each pipe or just one and if so on which pipe? Th3Franz
You should adjust your tune for cold weather if it is over boosting. Usually I increase the wgdc temperature compensation table -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
smith222
Planned on it. The issue didnt present its self till I went home on leave and we had a cold snap. We're going to rework the tune once I get back but both me and my tuner have a nasty sneaking suspicious that because my exhaust is completely catless a external will be required. Given that from the looks of it the internal wastegates on the twin scroll they are double the size it hopefully wont be an issue on the new set up
