Sub-Frame and Rear Diff Bushings

Recommended Posts

I finally feel like I am making progress on the subframe. After the holiday, and a much needed break from the project I got back at it and made some serious progress. I was able to grind down the the subframe where the old bushing races remained rusted so now it clearanced for the new bushings. I then did a final wire wheeling of the frame. It has been coated in POR-15 and ready to press in the rear diff bushings. I have accepted the fact that is job doesn't make the subframe indestructible, mostly because I can only clean and paint what I can get to. There are the internal hallow points that still have surface rust. At least for now all of the welding joints are coated and this may prolong the subframe life by a handful of years.

Thanks all for the help along the way. I will show a final picture once it is on the car to round out this thread!
