rayeve
Hi. I have an '08 Outback in North Carolina. When I took it in yesterday for "safety inspection" the car failed the included exhaust gas test because the tech"s computer (cheapie shop, by the way) failed to connect at all to the sensor that assesses the exhaust gas. Can anyone suggest technical reasons with the car that might have been a problem I should try to fix, or should I have just gone to the dealer to be sure the measuring machine was up to standards? Thanks. Ray
WRX USA
It could be a bad sensor. I also have an 02 WRX that I just smogged and I had to do some troubleshooting. I used one of these ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072ZRXZ2W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_ds.WAbP4VNZEK) because it will show readiness, read codes, and erase codes.
