06SubLegTx
Hello, So I get a intermittent 420 Cat code. Is this a sign that the Catalytic Converter is dying? My car has 106,000 on it. Thought? Has anyone ever used the Magnaflow cat? Results? https://www.magnaflow.com/products?partNumber=52305

06SubLegTx
Hello, Mine is a Automatic. None turbo. The code is very erratic. It can happen at different times, outside temps. It mostly happen when driving on the highway. There is no rhyme or reason when it will happen, days, to weeks to months. It's not consistent. relative4
An infrared thermometer is helpful. When warmed up, the downstream side of the cat should be about 100F hotter than the upstream side. If that's OK, the lower O2 sensor may be bad, or it may still be the cat. Follow the P0420 procedure in the vacay pix.
