Stronger R180-swap axles?

NSFW

Recommended Posts

I just noticed a company that sells 500hp and 1000hp axles for 02-07 WRX with R180 diffs... while the length is probably too short for Spec B / R180-swap cars, I think the WRX of that era used the same hubs and outboard axles as the 4th-gen Legacy. And they also say "call us for custom applications."

Which suggests that they could probably build the axle that a lot of 4th-gen 6MT-swap folks have been dreaming of.

Their current catalog:

The thing that got me wondering:

If you read their web site you'll know everything I know. Probably more, as I haven't read the whole thing. It's just a company that I heard of some time ago and only just now looked into.

I have my hands full with other car projects right now, so I won't be the guinea pig for this. But in case someone else out there is yearning for stronger axles... here's something to look into.

I seem to recall raxles as another place check in JmP's sticky in the4th gen forum about various parts. there's a post there about axles.

If you search the web I think you'll find the high HP Honda guy's have had good results with there axles, yes both raxles and insaneaxles.

We used DSS axles and then had Rob Moore Nitro Drivlines make us axles for the car. That was about 10 years ago, so I'm sure you can find good axles.

In your area, check out www.speedfactoryracing.net and see what James say's about different axles. Just tell him the yellow single cam civic hatch from CT sent you.

Another source, but I can't remember the shop out of Texas, Mary had a 735whp Spec B I think it was. Found it,
