bluesuby
I was reading the Rock Auto monthly newsletter and there's an article about newer cars having a "sock" type of fuel filter or screen which should be changed....but cheer up! It also says the consensus is most are integrated with the fuel pump which will likely quit before 100,000 miles. My car has 163k and no sign of fuel pump failure. I use Sunoco 93 gasoline and I'm an hour from the refinery, so I'm not concerned with substandard gas. Is there a recommended interval, and is there easy access to the filter from under the floor where the rear seat is located? I also use Techron 4 or 5 times each year, so I'k hoping that keeping the system clean means the Techron will dissolve anything which sticks to the filter. Thanks for the advice/experience. FJuan
The filter sock is on the bottom of the pump, there really is no need to change them, unless you have some kind of OCD. I'm at 185k and never touched the pump, still going strong. My wife's balls are delicious.
