Zac88
Will these tires fit on stock suspension? I do a lot of gravel road driving due to having an acherage and farm I need to visit often and want some extra sidewall for a softer ride
3.0r413
i cant guarantee but i think they should fit. i have a 3.0r with the bilsteins so its about 20mm lower than your car and it takes 235/45 just fine.
Max Capacity
I'll say yes they will fit. I just took off the 215/45-18 winter tires on the Spec B wheels off my 1" lowered wagon and put on the 225/50-17 Nokian WRG3 on, I noticed I had to pump the jack once to get the Nokians on. So they appear to be taller then the 18's. So on a stock ride height I'm thinking you'll be ok. Just watch the first turn where you go to the steering lock in a tight turn. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). Wasted Potential
I have 225/50/17 on my LGT wagon stock height. I have less than 0.25-0.35 inch clearance between strut and wheel... you're adding 1 inch in total diameter. Therefore 0.5 inch taller radius wise. I think it will fit. And if it does I would be scared of the clearance under sidewall flexing Edit: p4obably barely clear with spec B or Bilstein struts. But the spring perch is the pickle
Zac88
Forgot to mention that I do have JDM SpecB RevA Bilsteins installed
Zac88
Just measured and it looks like with my current winter tire setup of 215/50R17 I have 30mm between the tire and strut and from a tire size calculator looks like i'll have half an inch bigger sidewall which is like 15mm so I think I should be fine! Wasted Potential
Let us know how it goes. Know some tires bulge more than others also
Zac88
225/45/R18 could also be an option
Wasted Potential
I know you are set on trying something for more sidewall and protection on 18s, I cannot imagine anything larger than what I have unfortunately. Id advise buying a factory set of 17s for cheap and the same combo as Max for 215/50/17, i dont feel safe in aggressive turns due to minimal lateral clearance. Good news is these are winter only tires that I had a deal I didn't want to pass in on (basically free). Then again, I have not tried the combo on 18s, so my opinion is just that, no factual yay or nay. Sorry. Here are pics of 225/50/17... Edit: sorry I'm blind, you said you have Bilsteins. I think it'd fit then.
