busy13b
Hoping someone can shed a little light on what might be happening: I use a Valentine 1 radar detector, and finally put it in my '05 OBXT yesterday. Almost immediately, the V1's laser alert began going off. Totally random spots, BOOM, laser alert. What I finally noticed is that the V1 alert would coincide with hitting the throttle at perhaps 40% - 50% tip in or greater. So it seems the signal of the drive by wire throttle is being picked up by the V1, but why would it be a laser alert? And why is it only happening at say half to full throttle? rhino6303
It's funny you bring this up. I have an issue similar where my laser will also go off but only when at 100% throttle.
theflystyle
I get laser alerts as soon as my OEM navigation screen is turned on. I haven't noticed it with the throttle however.

Gex
I experienced this a lot on my old Escort 8500 but like WRX USA now have the Passport Max 360 and do not have the false positives issue.

It also causes all of the USB devices hooked up to my Nexus 7 to loose their connection to the tablet. It's like a spike in voltage or something. People have tried various fixes with various levels of success or not... http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/accessport-keeps-cutting-out-wot-202461.html http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/accessport-v3-cutting-out-under-wot-252271.html https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2714229 As for V1 radar detector... Make sure you have the latest features turned on or get your unit upgraded if you have older hardware. The feature to limit false alerts was by default turned off on my unit but available - turning it on helped.
