NavySeal1127
Hey guys, so my throwout bearing went out with a catastrophic bang! It took some chucks of the input shaft housing with it. I'm not really wanting to buy a new trans so do I have any options here? Can I get like just the bell housing? Thanks for the advice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
apexi
The TSK kit might work for you, but the question is, is there enough meat left there for the TSK kit to work. It's basically a metal sleeve with a set screw that slips over the snout. You can read through the thread below if you're bored, they have pictures and more information there. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/08-legacy-gt-throwout-tski-232472.html Some people in that thread recommend contacting the manufacturer PDM directly, telling them how much of your snout is left intact, and they can let you know if the kit will work. The pictures would probably be very helpful for PDM as well. http://www.pdmusa.com/contact-us I use parts.subaru.com to look up parts diagrams and information. It looks like MSRP for the whole case in the attached picture is $532, assuming I looked up the correct one. It also sells online for around $450 from various dealerships, not sure how much shipping would be since it's a heavier item I'm sure. *Just for a price comparison, it looks like the TSK kit runs around $160-$180. xt2005bonbon
Yeah. Look into the TSK kit. You may have enough 'meat' left on the snout to attach the sleeve.
NavySeal1127
Yea thanks for the advice guys. I got a tsk kit and fitted it on the snout nicely. Looks like it will work good enough for me, just have to get the trans back in the car now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
